Interstellar Object Occurrence
In Levine et al. (2021), we attempted to reconcile the inferred galactic reservoir of `Oumuamua-like interstellar objects with the detection of one such interloper by Pan-STARRs. Using an analytic framework for the interstellar number density combined with hydrodynamical impact simulations, we made predictions for Rubin/LSST’s interstellar object yield over the course of its ten year survey.
